Create a real-time permits and inspections tracker with open APIs so residents, contractors, and journalists can follow applications from intake to sign-off. The system will show queue positions, average review times by permit type, correction comments, and scheduled inspections. We will pilot next-day virtual inspections for simple re-inspections and residential mechanicals. Performance targets will tie to staff hiring and overtime budgets to prevent backlogs. Data will be anonymous where legally required, but the default is machine-readable transparency.
