"Content" includes, but is not limited to, posts, comments, profiles, images, and usernames.1. Encouraged BehaviorsWe encourage you to use RuleTogether to create positive impact. Here's how you can contribute:Share Your Story: Create content that reflects your experiences or concerns. Explain the issue, its impact on you or your community, and propose clear solutions. Anonymity is permitted if using your real name poses risks to your safety or privacy.Engage Constructively: Address your content to the appropriate individuals, groups, or entities who can address your concerns. Collaborate respectfully to find solutions.Build Community: Share your content with friends, family, and your community through social media or other tools provided by RuleTogether to raise awareness.Embrace Open Dialogue: Welcome differing opinions. If you disagree with content, consider creating your own content to share your perspective rather than requesting removal of others content, provided it complies with these guidelines.Keep Supporters Informed: Update your community with progress, challenges, and ways they can stay involved.Be Respectful: When addressing sensitive topics (e.g., mental health, trauma, or abuse), use content warnings and approach these subjects with empathy to avoid causing distress.2. Prohibited BehaviorsThe following behaviors and content are not permitted on RuleTogether and may result in content removal, restrictions, or account suspension.2.1 Illegal or Harmful SpeechHate Speech and Discrimination: Content that attacks, discriminates against, or seeks to disadvantage individuals or groups based on characteristics such as age, race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, medical condition, nationality, or veteran status is prohibited. This includes coded language intended to harm. Such content will be removed.Hate Groups: Content from or supporting recognized hate groups, including their symbols or logos, is not allowed and will be removed.Illegal Activity: Do not use RuleTogether to engage in or promote activities that violate applicable laws, including those protecting the rights of others.2.2 SafetyProtection of Minors: Content that harms or exploits minors is strictly prohibited. Only parents or legal guardians may share a minor's personal information (e.g., name, image). Violations, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), will result in content removal, account suspension, and reporting to authorities. Users must be at least 13 years old in the United States or 16 elsewhere (unless local law specifies otherwise).Privacy Violations: Do not share personally identifiable information (PII) such as private email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, or identification documents without consent. Non-compliant content will be removed or redacted, and repeated violations may lead to account suspension.Harassment and Bullying: Content or behavior intended to intimidate, degrade, or harass others, including stalking, trolling, or threats, is prohibited and may result in content removal or account suspension.Vexatious Behavior: Excessive, irrelevant, or disruptive posting, such as trolling or frivolous content, will be removed. Repeated violations may lead to account restrictions.Public Safety Risks: Content that promotes environmental harm, terrorism, or self-harm/suicide is prohibited. This includes instructional material or glorification of such acts. Use content warnings for sensitive mental health discussions. Violations will result in removal and potential account suspension.2.3 ViolenceIncitement to Violence: Content that incites, supports, or glorifies violence or hatred against individuals or groups is prohibited and will be removed. This may also result in account suspension.Graphic Content: Avoid posting gratuitously violent, gory, or distressing images, videos, or text. When using graphic content to raise awareness, include content warnings. Non-compliant content will be restricted or removed.2.4 Integrity and AuthenticityMisinformation and Disinformation: Do not post false or misleading information, especially if intended to deceive. Verify claims with reputable sources. Disputed or harmful content may be removed, and we may add a banner encouraging users to verify information independently.Defamation: False statements that harm someone's reputation are prohibited and may be removed. Ensure factual claims are substantiated to avoid legal consequences.Content Integrity: Do not significantly alter the core intent of your content after it gains traction. Modifications should clarify or update without changing the original purpose. Non-compliant edits may result in content removal.Deception and Fraud: Do not impersonate others or create inauthentic accounts. Anonymity is allowed for safety reasons, but offensive usernames or multiple accounts are prohibited. Links to fraudulent websites or unverified fundraisers will be removed, and accounts may be suspended.2.5 Intellectual PropertyCopyright and Trademark Infringement: Do not post content that violates others copyrights or trademarks, including text, images, or logos, without permission. Such content will be removed.Plagiarism: Always attribute or seek permission for others work. Unattributed content may be removed.2.6 Other GuidelinesSpam: Do not use RuleTogether for unsolicited bulk communications, direct sales, or spam-like behavior. Such content will be removed, and accounts may be suspended.Inappropriate Content: Content that is nonsensical, blank, or unrelated to the platform's purpose may be removed. Pornography, sexualized content, or nudity is strictly prohibited and will result in removal and potential account suspension.User Requests: Content may be removed at the request of the content creator if it no longer aligns with their intent.3. Actions may include content removal, account suspension, or disabling promotion features. We may notify users of actions taken, such as content removal, via email.4. Moderation ProcessRuleTogether does not pre-moderate content, as we are an open platform. We use automated tools to flag potential violations, which are then reviewed by human moderators. Possible actions include:Content Removal: Non-compliant content is removed, with notification to the content creator.Content Restrictions: Content may be restricted from platform recommendations or promotions.Account Actions: Repeated or severe violations may lead to temporary or permanent account suspension.5.
