Jordan Carter is a small-business owner, community problem solver, and father of three who was born and raised in Gwinnett County. At 46, Jordan brings a practical, sleeves-rolled-up approach to city leadership rooted in Buford's values: safety, opportunity, and accountability.

After graduating from Buford High, Jordan studied business at a Georgia public university and built a 20-year career managing operations and budgets for local companies. He later founded a Buford-based services firm that prioritizes hiring local talent, internships for high school students, and second-chance opportunities for returning citizens. That experience taught him how to balance a budget, deliver projects on time, and treat customers and employees with respect.

Jordan has coached youth sports, chaired a neighborhood association, and served on a civic advisory group focused on traffic safety near schools. He has worked alongside faith leaders and neighborhood volunteers on food drives, park cleanups, and back-to-school supply events. As mayor, he will bring that same collaborative spirit to City Hall: open data dashboards, clear timelines for projects, and regular town halls that meet people where they are.

Jordan's priorities are straightforward: safer streets and intersections, responsible growth and zoning that protect neighborhood character, a stronger small business ecosystem downtown, and clean, welcoming parks and lake access for families. He believes city government should be easy to understand and easy to reach, with budgets and contracts posted clearly for everyone to see.

Jordan and his spouse are raising three kids in Buford. On weekends, you will find them at local ball fields, walking the trails, or cheering at school events. Jordan is running to make sure every family in Buford can see a future here: good jobs, safe neighborhoods, and a City Hall that works for everyone.
