Region: National
Foundry Makers Collective is a vibrant community of builders, artists, and tinkerers who come together to create, learn, and share. Across our locations in North America, members work side by side on projects of all kinds from first-time experiments to professional-level builds.

Our rules are designed to prioritize safety, ensure fairness, and promote care for shared tools and spaces. We believe that beginners should always feel welcome to try new things, and that experts should feel supported in pushing the limits of their craft. By looking out for one another and our shared resources, we keep the Collective a place where creativity can thrive.

This handbook includes practical guidance for:

Safety checkouts before using tools or equipment.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and best practices.
Booking and queue systems for high-demand tools or work areas.
Cleanup standards to keep spaces ready for the next maker.
Hazmat and waste disposal procedures to protect people and the environment.
Overnight storage tags for works in progress.
Teaching or demoing a new tool so others can learn safely and confidently.

By following these standards, we maintain a safe, fair, and inspiring environment where creativity is matched by respect for tools, spaces, and each other.
